Peter teaches Piano, Saxophone and Clarinet. Although Jazz Piano is his specialty, he also teaches Jazz on Saxophone and Clarinet and Classical playing on all three instruments.  He has played in many musical ensembles growing up, including the Hampshire County Youth orchestra on Clarinet, the Hampshire Youth Jazz Orchestra on Saxophone and Clarinet and the Southampton Youth Jazz Orchestra on Piano.

Peter encourages his pupils to get the most out of their instrument by learning to play with others whilst going through the grade system with their teacher. He makes lessons as fun and varied as possible whilst maintaining steady progress in all areas of musical development.

She specialises in teaching classical piano, and welcomes pupils of all ages. Lauren can teach for ABRSM graded exams or just for fun.

She has played in numerous professional orchestras, including Les Miserables at London’s West End and a solo at the Royal Albert Hall.  Other experience includes playing with the Maggini Quartet.

Holly is a friendly and patient teacher and welcomes students of all ages.

Chris is open to teaching any form of Rock or Pop music.

He plays in Southampton-based Electro-Pop band ‘Jazica’ – (www.myspace.com/jazicamusic).

Jane’s students have a choice of sitting exams or learning for their own enjoyment!  For the exams, most of the songs are classical.  For those learning for their own enjoyment, she teaches whatever genre it is that they like – pop, rock, jazz.  She is used to teaching children, however does also teach adults.

As a music tutor she has taught students aged 7 – 89 how to get the most out of hitting various objects with mallets and sticks.  This has included conducting a percussion ensemble for teenagers, running sectional rehearsals for members of a community band, and preparing students for university auditions.  She is more than happy to fit lessons to her students’ individual learning styles and goals.

Most recently, Aurora graduated with an MA in Popular Music from The University of Liverpool and currently drums for alt-country group Deer Park.

Alexis holds a degree in Contemporary Music (ACM) with guitar as main instrument.

He is currently fronting the London-based Greek band Midas Touch and performs with the Rex Roman Pink Floyd show which performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2009.

With almost 20 years of playing experience and a BA (Hons) degree in Music, Ben has taught both privately and in five London schools and spent 5 years playing and studying Brazilian music around Brazil.  I has commercially released 11 records on an independent label, worked as a session saxophonist, record producer and storyteller.

Stephanie enjoys teaching a range of ages a range of styles and genres.  Her students are able to take graded exams or to learn just for fun.

She also performs the Celtic Harp regularly in hotels, weddings and at community events.

Tom believes it is most important to inspire a student, rather than overwhelm them with theory, as music is supposed to be fun.  He thinks it it is best to get them playing something first and then worry about if they understand the theory behind it.
